(Archive November 1, 2011) Institute Students Seek to Transfer to FSU

A tute is a student who applied regular admission to Fitchburg State University and was denied. A tute is also one who read the entire rejection letter, finding the opportunity live on campus at FSU, and take classes at The Mount. The goal for these students is to transfer to FSU.

To transfer to FSU, the students must have obtained a 2.5 GPA and 12 transferable credits; this entails four classes, three credits each. Once the student has completed this, The Mount ensures a smooth matriculation between schools. Coming into FSU, each student already has an academic advisor, experience with the layout of the campus, and hopefully, a few friends. read more

(Archive October 18, 2011) Transfer Fair Held in South Café

On October 6th, 2011 the South Café was filled with 40 colleges from all over New England for the annual Transfer Fair. They gathered from different areas if Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and other states to show the students here at the Mount what they have to offer if students are planning on transferring for their bachelors’ degrees.

Some of the colleges that attended the event include Becker College, Keene State, Fitchburg State University, St. Joseph’s, Westfield State, UMass Lowell, UMass Boston, and UMass Amherst, Worcester State and Nichols College (which is part of the 3+1, transfer program.) read more
