(Archive November 1, 2011) SGA Discusses Community Hour

By Benjamin Allen | Observer Contributor

A debate took place at the Oct over the importance of community time at the college. Arguments against getting rid of the free time between 12:15pm and 1:45pm are being voiced by faculty and students. Some concerns expressed were that students use this time for the academic support center, club meetings, meeting with professors and working on group projects with their class mates. The SGA determined that further student input will be needed before a decision is made by the school and this data will be collected by taking a survey within the college.

In the last minutes of the meeting, a student and tutor at the Academic Support Center voiced growing concerns about the lack of computers and other issues since moving the support center from its previous location in room 115 & 116. The SGA will be gathering more information on this topic as it becomes available.
