(Archive March 1, 2011) SGA Elections Successful

By Jenny Cooper | Observer Contributor

The SGA online elections “were very successful,” said Greg Clement, Assistant Dean of Student Life. “We had 116 online votes, of which three were disqualified. Worcester State’s big election in the fall only averages 100 votes – so we are on par.”

This was the SGA’s first online election. Seven positions were available of which four spots were filled. Those four spots went to Grace A. Santos – Sophomore Representative, Carly Gagne – Freshman Representative, Andrea Gendron – At-Large Representative, Ashley Williams – At- Large Representative.

However, coming this fall semester, there will be Board openings as Edwin Martinez, President of the SGA, is transferring to Salem State University. Besty Cox, Secretary, is graduating so that position is opening as well. Chrissy LaJoie, the Student Trustee, is graduating as well, so she will need a replacement.
