Student Reviews Local Pop Culture Shop

Looking for action? Looking for excitement? Looking for…entertainment?!? That’s Entertainment is your one-stop source for all your fandom needs. Whether you’re looking for comic books, video games, action figures, CDs, vinyl, or various other pop culture memorabilia, this is the place to be. That’s Entertainment has two locations; 244 Park Avenue in Worcester and 56 John Fitch Highway in Fitchburg. My journey through the land of pop culture was at the Fitchburg location. The building itself is easy to find, right off the main road in the heart of Fitchburg. Parking was accessible, as the store is located within a group of other businesses.
Stores such as this tend to seem rather overwhelming at first. There is so much to see, in a store that isn’t all that big. The store is crammed with items. Despite being slightly overwhelmed in my adventure through the land of entertainment, the staff always has friendly faces and is always willing to help point you in the right direction.
The sections are strategically placed. This made it easy for me to find the exact items I was looking for. My eyes were fixed on what was directly in front of me, vinyl. As a collector of vinyl, I spent a fair amount of time browsing here. I came to the realization that I already own most of the Pink Floyd vinyl that they had in stock. So, I took a turn and headed for the right wall of the store. I took a quick peek at the action figures and various other toys, hoping I’d find something for my six year son. I did!
The store has a decent amount of trade paperback comic books, if you’re looking to collect larger sets. I personally own enough, so I made my way for the new releases. I browsed for several minutes, enjoying some time to myself, doing what I love; reading comic books. I grabbed a few and headed for the register.
As I waited in line, holding my comic books and a Transformer for my son, I noticed a mini-fridge, packed with cans of soda. I also noticed that behind the counter they carry a ton of vintage video games and consoles. Again, the staff was great and asked me if I found what I was looking for and asked if I’d be coming again. I of course said that I would and I even signed up for a comic book subscription.
Now when I show up they remember me, have my comic books safe and behind the counter, and I still get my time to wonder for a few minutes before checking out with my new X-Men comic book and an ice cold soda. I’ll continue to be a loyal customer and may even check out their Worcester location.
