MWCC Students Sean Gallagher and Shawn Mason have teamed up to form a podcast called the Shawn and Sean Show. The podcast covers numerous topics, but their focus, so far, seems to be on politics and entertainment, and whatever else may be hot in the news or pop-culture. I had the pleasure of being a guest on the show recently, and my experience was interesting.
The show started off with a cover of a Beatles song that Gallagher and one of his friends had recorded for Gallagher’s father, whose birthday just happened to be on that same day we were recording the show. After the cover, Sean reported the weather for the week and then transitioned into a phone interview with another friend of his. From there, the topic was Deadpool and the interview went on for about 15-20 minutes before it was ended.
Afterwards, I was officially brought in and the topics ranged all over the place from the recent Grammy’s, a little bit of politics, some entertainment topics, and we even got into the Black Lives Matter movement. The overall show was about 45 minutes.
Since Sean Gallagher is a Media Arts and Technology major, he was able to have access to professional equipment (microphones, computer, soundboard, and a private recording studio).
The goal of the Sean and Shawn Show is help bring together the community of MWCC and to provide another source of news and information to the community. The podcast is currently working on creating a YouTube page, as well as a Facebook page to help spread the word and to also allow easier access to their podcasts. The show is recorded every Tuesday, and is released sometime within the same week.
