Mistress Carrie, a radio personality for the WAAF, visited MWCC on 29 Nov. to speak with members of the schools’ Veterans Club.
Carrie, who recently returned from a trip to Afghanistan as an embedded reporter, shared many of her photos and stories about the trip with the group.
When arriving in Afghanistan, Carrie recalled that the airline lost her luggage and that she had to buy new supplies there. She spent the majority of her time at Camp Phoenix.
Among the photos she shared was a picture of some orphans. Carrie said that their nicknames were George Bush and Sugar Daddy, and that some people taught then to say, “Yankees Suck.” Later Carrie said, “Kids are kids no matter where they are.”
Other photos she shared were a pair of castles, not too far from each other, that lay in ruins. The castles are known as the Princess Palace and the Prince Palace.
Carrie’s personal style includes purple hair and long dark nails. She said that most of the Afghans got a kick out of hair, but that she had to wear gloves for most of the trip because the locals might freak out.
