Chris Alexandrovich is planning on pursuing a career in environmental science. He is interested in Chemistry and Biology and would like to work in a laboratory helping solve problems with greenhouse gases or contributing to water conservation.

Alexandrovich will be graduating from Mount Wachusett Community College this spring with an Associate’s degree in physical science. He is planning on continuing his education at a four year university in order to receive a Bachelor’s degree.

As a 37 year old father of three children, ranging in age from 20 months to eighteen years old, Alexandrovich is not exactly your typical student. He has spent the past twenty years working in various types of construction including; concrete, masonry, and paving. Alexandrovich said he always made enough money so school was not necessary, but the recent downturn in the economy and the housing market has made construction jobs scarce.

Of his experience at MWCC Alexandrovich said, “It was all worth it. I’m glad I took advantage of the opportunity.” He also commented on the size of the classes at the college and said, “The student teacher ratio is perfect, you can actually talk to your professors.” Alexandrovich also said his decision to return to school has had a positive effect on the people he knows. He said, “I would tell my friends what I was doing, then I would see them walking through the halls or in the cafeteria the next semester.”
