The new year speeds by, days having come and gone;
January brings snow and sleet, freezing ice our feet do hurt!
After January, February arrives and its entrance will come anon;
More snow, ice and cold; but also, the ferociously fickle February flirt!
February is unlike any other, of short duration and heartfelt invitation;
Love fills the air, lovers unite; gifts and looks lovingly shared.
Heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, each with a romantic destination;
Romantic gifts bestowed, careful caresses completely cared!
The temperature outside is cold, the mercury drops low;
The wind blows strong, snow drifts, ice heaves and winter is here!
Love warms the heart, hands held with a tender know.
Valentines’ Day arrives; daring, determined, dramatically dear!
The February flirt will melt even the coldest heart;
Denial of feelings fails, the soul open to its companion muse.
Although February may be frigid, and venturing out not very smart,
When love calls, travel is undulating, unruly, unifying use!
Flirting is fun, as natural as the freshly fallen snow;
Love is more daunting, more fickle than any February flirt.
With every valentine, a future promise is there to sow;
Perhaps a life together; happy, humble, honorable, hurt-free!
