Observer Contributor

The Early Childhood & Elementary Education Club focuses on gathering Early Childhood development majors, providing its members with hands-on experience in their majors, as well as offering kids opportunities in literacy.

The club is open to all students, not just Early Childhood Education majors. Meetings are held in the Garrison Center for Early Childhood Education from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Stephanie Brunell said the club is “a great way for Early Childhood Education majors to connect with one another.”

The club recently screen the film No Small Matter, a documentary described by the club as “an opportunity to understand brain development and the child care crisis.”

Upcoming events they look forward to include their bake sale fundraiser and Week of the Young Child. The National Association for the Young Education of Children sponsors this event every year, with the upcoming event taking place April 13 – April 17, 2020. The commemorative week was created in 1971 to promote early childhood development and childhood literacy. The Early Childhood Education & Education club will have events for anyone in the community who wishes to take part.
